Surrounded by
siblings-in-law
Betty Friedman Faberman, seated, is surrounded by siblings-in-law in this warm
snapshot taken in the backyard of the Farberman house. "After Sam died, she
became even more a part of the family," says Doris. "She was a good
converationalist and liked to tell stories. I always enjoyed her. She was such
a modern woman -- slim, bright, and she had a great sense of humor."
Fannie, in necklace, and Esther both married late, and both married men
who were widowers and had grown children. Esther pursued a career in the garment
center before she married Isidore Dick. Fannie lived at home and cared for her
parents. After her father passed away, she met and married Dave Block. Max
also married late; he was 50 when he settled down with Malvine Mandell, and a year later,
their son, Harris, was born. |
