Mugging for the camera, even while holding his mother's hand, is Avrum Varon, born April 4, 1991. On the other side of his mother, Yetty, is Avrum's older sister, Ayalah, born September 23, 1984. Next is Asher, born December 3, 1987. Asher was Bar-Mitzvah on December 9, 2000 at the Beit Zelzer Synagogue on Bal Shem Tov Street in Rehovot. Yisrael Aryeh, born May 11, 1989, stands behind Asher and his sister, Ruthi, born June 6, 1986. Larry and Yetty Salomon Varon were married August 1, 1983 in a hall in the Ramat Gan section of Tel Aviv, Larry wrote. All of the children were born in the same hospital, the Laniado Hospital, "operated under religious auspices" in Netanya, up the coast about 16 miles from Tel Aviv. Rehovot, the home of the Weizmann Institute of Science as well as the Varon family, is inland and about 10 miles southeast of Tel Aviv. |
