The Rubenstein Family lived at 282 Broome St. until 1917 and may well have prayed in the former synagogue two short blocks away, on the corner of Forsyth and Delancey. A round, stained glass Star of David window in the gallery is one of the few clues of its history. Crossing the street to the gardens tended by the Chinese and Hispanic communities (where another synagogue once stood), one can see the Empire State Bldg. | ||
