We are indebted to Ruth Sollender Goldstein for the use of this photograph, the only known image of Usher's son, Hirschel and his wife, Rivka, the parents of my grandfather, Morris.  This print is in much better condition than my cherished copy of a tattered duplicate. 

Hirschel worked as a tanner, one of the approved vocations for Jews. He lived until the late 1920's when he met his death in a pogrom, according to his grandson, Larry.

Rivka Hyman Uberstein passed away in 1918 or 1919, according to Larry, who remembers the day his father   received the news in a letter.

Dora appears to be about 15 years old here, which means the year was around 1913.
