Sam, the family comedian, most likely spotted this car at a gas station while on an outing with his brother, Arthur, an excellent photographer, who took this theatrical pose.

The fellow in the photo is the youngest son of my Mom's oldest maternal aunt, Bessie. When Grandmother Fanny visited her, she would take Mom along and order her to, "Go play with Julius."  Mother told me she would protest, "Julius hates girls!"  That was then, and by the time this photo was taken, the situation had changed.

That cute face peeking out of the  backpack is why I treasure this photo of my sister-in-law, Jan, in the garden with her older son, left, picking salad makings from their vegetable garden. 

What an 85th birthday celebration this was for the widow of a beloved cousin of the Farberman branch.
